Editorial Review
Situated across the road from the Woden shopping complex, the first thing that strikes you about the Noble Palace, which opened in July 2005, is its size. With seating for up to 300 split between three distinct levels (two for general dining and another suitable for private functions), it makes you feel, well, rather grand. Fortunately the decor, colour scheme and carpet are warm and inviting, thus avoiding the hollow, cold atmosphere that can result from a large cavernous venue.
The food is a more than worthy counterpart to the grandiose dining room. The live lobsters, fighting for space in the fluorescent blue tank on display as you enter, make it clear that fresh seafood is their specialty. In Canberra you’ll often find seafood lovers at the Belconnen markets on the select days of the week where there is fresh, non-frozen seafood for sale. The Noble Palace flies their fresh seafood in directly from Sydney and it is, by far, their best asset; the ginger and shallot lobster is a great example. The oyster, prawn and abalone dishes are similarly a specialty. The Noble Palace welcomes families and children, and the seating arrangement lends itself to groups and functions. They also sometimes do yum cha, check the website to keep up to date.

Kristy: YUMYUM! Definitely have to go there and try the lobster hot pot with vermicelli or the mud crab with ginger and shallot with a noodle base... mmmmmm (11 September 2008)
John: This is my favourite Yum Cha restaurant in Canberra, always fast to serve you (once you get in that is) and good quality dumplings. I especially like the deep fried Lobster Dumplings, made from real chunks of lobster. The other Yum Chas I used to go to never had that dish. (26 May 2008)
