Editorial Review

Ben Lee is set to release his seventh studio album in February. Apparently, the album is to be called The Rebirth of Venus and finds Lee working with long-time producer Brad Wood. Missy Higgins, Cary Brothers and The Grates's Patience Hodgson are also among the featured guests.

The album is the follow-up to Lee's under-performing 2007 release Ripe. While the album debuted at number 11 in Australia and the first single, Love Me Like the World is Ending, did okay, things quickly tapered off and the releases didn't come anywhere near the multi-platinum sales success of Awake is the New Asleep.

Not that Lee was overly concerned, he was juggling several projects at the time, including a film soundtrack and writing material with Angie Hart. Besides, the licensing fee Coca-Cola payed to use We're All in this Together should keep Lee cashed up years to come. Anyway, the first single to be lifted from the forthcoming album is What's So Bad (About Feeling Good). It's vintage Lee and has more hooks than a large fishing expedition. One loaded with extra hooks just in case.
