Monty Python's Spamalot revives the classic spoof movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail in a musical extravaganza complete with legless knights, killer rabbits and flatulent Frenchmen. The production was written by Eric Idle, an original Monty Python member who played Sir Robin in the 1975 film. Spamalot has cracked up audiences on Broadway and the West End, been awarded a handful of Tony Awards and is set to remind Australian theatre-goers to always look on the bright side of life.
Spamalot follows King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave, Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot, Sir Dennis Galahad the Dashingly Handsome and Sir Bedevere the Strangely Flatulent) on their God-sent quest for the Holy Grail. The musical sees the characters encounter the unforgettable Knights Who Say Ni, and is littered with modern popular culture and Broadway references.
King Arthur is played by Billy Brown, who directed John Cleese on his tour of New Zealand and California and has appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company in London. Lucinda Shaw is The Lady of the Lake, Ben Lewis is Sir Dennis Galahad, and veteran of the International Melbourne Comedy Festival Stephen Hall plays Sir Lancelot. Now in its fourth year, Spamalot has proven itself a comic winner and is certain to be a laugh-out-loud, rolling in the aisles affair. Spamalot's up for awards. Find out more here.

Mike: Bright entertainment with lots of props and even a f*rt joke. Even my wife enjoyed it. (08 April 2008)
Jeanette: Spamelot is excellent. My mother is not a big fan of Monty Python. When I went for the second time I bought her a ticket as well. She loved it. It's a wonderful show full of fun and music. The entire cast is wonderful. Bille Brown as King Arthur has an amazingly infectious smile. He seems to be having such a great time you can't help but love him. Lucina Shaw is stunning as The Lady of the Lake and what a voice! Derek Metzger, Ben Lewis, Jason Langly and Stephen Hall, all gorgeous. (24 February 2008)
