JIGSAW THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS MARY MORRIS' The Blue roof

Jigsaw Theatre Company, Canberra's professional theatre company for young people, presents the premier of internationally acclaimed writer Mary Morris' latest work, The Blue Roof, at the Street Theatre in September 2002.

The Blue Roof, directed by Greg Lissaman, is an optimistic tragedy; a poignant story of first love and futures lost. In the aftermath of his girlfriend Amy's death, Joe finds himself excluded by her grieving family. He climbs onto the roof to search for a message left for him by Amy that will prove the love between them.   Whilst on the roof Joe is surprised by the arrival of an old woman, also looking for a message.

Joe is played by Gyton Grantly whose list of credits include feature films Blurred and Swimming Upstream and the TV series Fat Cow Motel. Amy is played by Caitlin Hunter who has appeared in the TV series All Saints and Water Rats as well as playing Stacey in LaBoite's production of X-Stacey. The Woman is played by Annie Byron, who has worked with theatre companies such as the Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir Street Theatre and the Griffin Theatre. Annie's TV credits include Home and Away, Murder Call and Backberner and feature films such as Muriel's Wedding, Doing Time for Patsy Cline, for which she was nominated for the AFI Best Actress in a Supporting Roll award and Fran, for which she won the AFI Best Actress in a Supporting Roll award.
